Brother MFC-J815DW Manual, User Guide, and Setup

Brother MFC-J815DW is an entry-level multifunction (printing, scanning, copying, and faxing) inkjet printer designed for small home offices with medium and medium print volumes. Its overall printing effect is very good, and the price is reasonable. The printer’s 20-page ADF is printed manually on both sides, which means that to scan both sides of the double-sided page, you must manually flip the original. Configuration and tracking tasks, such as replication or scanning to the cloud, can be handled on the printer’s busy but efficient control panel. The panel consists of several buttons, including a set of navigation keys and an OK button, a numeric keypad, and a 1.8-inch non-touch color display. The printer panel is a bit retro but still easy to use compared to today’s larger touchscreen displays that make up the entire control panel. Like most enterprise-oriented printers, the printer also has a built-in Web server through which you can configure and monitor machines and their consumables and generate reports, 100,000 times, available locally or through a Web browser on your PC or smartphone. Brother MFC-J815DW rated black and white pages at 12 ppm per minute and color pages at 6 ppm, about the average for entry-level inkjet printers. As for paper handling, the printer comes with a 150-page paper tray and a single-page overboard feed box pulled from the back of the chassis. The printer has a maximum of 5,000 pages per month and a recommended capacity of 1,500 pages per month. As mentioned earlier, the printer does not support Ethernet, which is not common for business-oriented AIO, but Brother MFC-J815DW does support Wi-Fi 802.11 b /g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB 2.0 connectivity. In addition to Wi-Fi Direct, mobile connectivity includes Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, and the iPrint and Scan app for Brother for Android and iOS. You can also connect to Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive, OneDrive, and OneNote via the Control Panel or web-based interface via Brother’s web connectivity features. You do not have USB thumb drives or any other storage device support.
