The Canon PIXMA TS8220 wireless all-in-one is essentially the same as its predecessor, in addition to adding some interesting arts and crafts and hands-free printing capabilities. The printer’s control panel handles configuration and debugging tasks, such as copying or printing, or scanning from the cloud to the cloud, and consists only of a power button and a 4.3-inch touchscreen display. The printer has a paper capacity of 200 sheets divided into 100-sheet trays at the front and 100-sheet cartons at the rear. The rear tray can hold up to 20 Cartier-sized (or smaller) photo paper, and you can also get a separate tray that slides over the main tray to print labels on CDs and DVDs. The print engine is automatically printed on both sides and can be printed on both sides, and you’ll find a paper-sized tablet scanner at the top, but there is no automatic document feeder (ADF) to automatically scan multi-page documents. The tray extends as needed, so don’t wrap your document around the floor. In addition to the same level of output, the Canon PIXMA TS8220 supports popular scrapbooks and other handmade items, as well as its new smart home features, making it a great value product for small-volume homes and home-based consumer AIO printers. In addition to the basic cyan, lich, yellow, and black (CMYK) primary colors, the printer also offers pigment black and photo blue inks. Canon (as confirmed by my many reviews of consumer-grade Pixma photo printers over the years), pigment black darkens text and darkens black areas in photos and graphics. Light blue ink enhances clarity (by helping to eliminate grainy feeling) and increases color fields. Connections include Wi-Fi, a USB 2.0 connection to a PC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (low energy consumption), PictBridge Wireless Lan for printing from a network-ready camera, and a memory card slot for printing from an SD card. In addition to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, mobile device support includes the Canon Print app or Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, or Mopria, which can be accessed from the Canon PIXMA TS8220 printer’s control panel.
